Nipple itch may accompany other symptoms, which vary depending on the underlying disease, disorder or condition. Symptoms that frequently affect the breasts may also involve other body systems.

Breast symptoms that may occur along with nipple itch

Nipple itch may accompany other symptoms affecting the breast including:

• Breast pain
• Burning feeling
• Breast lump
• Nipple cracking
• Nipple crusting
• Nipple discharge that may be bloody or straw colored
• Nipple tenderness
• Nipple that is turned-in or flat
• Rash or sore on the breast or nipple
• Redness, warmth or swelling
• Skin thickening

Other symptoms that may occur along with nipple itch

Nipple itch may accompany symptoms related to other body systems including:

• Blisters
• Diarrhea
• Enlarged lymph nodes
• Hives
• Nausea with or with vomiting
• Peeling skin
• Rash
• Redness, warmth or swelling
• Runny nose
• Shortness of breath or rapid breathing (tachypnea)
• Sneezing
• Wheezing (whistling sound made with breathing)

Serious symptoms that might indicate a life-threatening condition

In some cases, nipple itch may occur with other symptoms that might indicate a serious or life-threatening condition which should be immediately evaluated in an emergency setting. Seek immediate medical care (call 911) if you, or someone you are with, have any of these life-threatening symptoms including:

• Change in level of consciousness or alertness, such as passing out or unresponsiveness
• Respiratory or breathing problems, such as shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, labored breathing, wheezing, not breathing, or choking
• Severe abdominal pain
• Sudden swelling of the face, lips or tongue
• Wheezing (whistling sound made with breathing)
